Artist’s Statement:
“The
art of painting is expression by way of images. It is subjective and
subversive, closer to poetry than to prose, in that it works from the
inside out, producing in the viewer a state, rather than making a statement
to him. The artist communicates by expressing what moves her internally,
but in a sense her intimate thoughts and feelings are never fully brought
to the surface. They are transmitted rather, via ambiguous personal
imagery, at a subconscious level in both artist and viewer. The artist can
never really be sure of what she has said, much less of how she will be
interpreted. I
work on a painting until it speaks to me, then I am confident that it will
speak to others.”
